Welcome to the 3rd season of the Xplore Sports Car Championship! As we are getting a late start due to an extended off season for our admins, we will begin the season with just GTEs. If interest builds for the series, then we can add more classes. We will be using default skins for the series to make things easy on everyone. Also, for the first time, perhaps ever in XSR top series competition, we are not requiring anyone to stick with one car for the full season. This is because the XSCC season will extend from now until November with an unknown number of races (minimum of 6) so the races will be spread out.

Dates: February-November
Day of week: Saturdays
Anticipated Number of Races : 6-10+
Extendable Season: Yes, depending on interest.
Game: RF2 + Official DLCs
Classes: GTLM (GTE)
Start Date: Feb 24, 2024

Race Night Schedule (all times GMT-5, Eastern Standard/Daylight Time)
Practice: All day
Race: 8:30pm (pending)
Race length: 60 minutes-2h40m
Weather: Mixed
FCY: IMSA style Safety Car (see below)
FCY Pits: Closed at yellow, everyone pits on lap 2. (see below)
Start: Rolling.
Registration: Next post.

Racing Rules:
Other than what you see below, standard racing rules apply. Track Limits will be fluid through the season if we see a potential place for errors. Most of us are grown up enough to race fair, but we will be keeping an eye on trouble areas and action will be taken if need be. If you get spun out, wrecked, etc etc, we want you to still be able to race and the wreck my draw a yellow or you may catch one later. Take a deep breath, put it behind you and keep racing. All of us that are regulars here have won a race after being wrecked. Just keep diggin. We are here for fun, not for money. There is no review procedure. Our admin team simply doesn't have the time. Repetitive crashers will be removed from the site and the races.

Points will follow the real world IndyCar points table in each class (visuals to come soon). Teams will score points.

As it states above, pending interest, we may add classes to the mix. The specific class and or cars within that class will depend on the number of requests for a specific class, discussion of which can take place in another thread.

Full Course Yellow Procedure:
FCY will be 3-5 laps, just follow the on screen prompts. When we call yellows we will call them for 3 laps but sometimes it calls them for more and has a different pit sequence, so again just follow the on screen instructions, once the entire field has had the opportunity to visit pit road, we will clear the yellow manually in order to shorten it, if necessary. We want everyone to have the ability to race and have fun. There may also be some "Competition Caution" if there has been a large green flag spell, but the other admins and myself like to keep those to an absolute minimum in order to allow as much proper racing to take place. if the racing is tight, we wont call it. If there's 20+ second gaps there's a chance we will see them. It all depends on the race situation. We will never call a CC within the last 15 minutes of the race.

Car Entries:
There is no limit on how many of any make can be present but we would like to see some variety, so keep that in mind.

Penalties:
The majority of the time, the game will be the only entity calling penalties during an event. We will not reverse those penalties. As our admin team are also drivers, we won't be watching y'all like hawks. Its up to you to race clean and fair. If the game calls a penalty you feel is unfair you may ask us to look at it, but it is up to you to serve the penalty during the race. The most we can do in this situation is go look at the data and see if we can figure out why it called the penalty and if anything can be adjusted to avoid it in the future. Race Control (the Admin Team) does reserve the right to set additional penalties when we feel it is necessary.

Balance of Performance
Everyone has different driving skills and I understand that. It is unlikely (but not impossible) that the BoP will change during the season. I'm not going to penalize someone for being freaky fast when they legitimately have the pace.

Now for the biggest rule of them all:
HAVE FUN! ITS A GAME AND YOURE NOT WINNING ANY PRIZES HERE, JUST BRAGGING RIGHTS!
While yes sim racers have made a name for themselves doing sim racing, and while I am guilty of having attempted it once or twice, that isn't what XSR is for. XSR is for fun friendly competition. Its ok to get frustrated following a series of events or bad finishes, but its all for fun, and you'll take that checkered flag first one day while someone else is having a bad run of races.

We had some difficulties tonight getting things going. Apparently we were not where I thought we were server-wise. That said the race will be rescheduled and we will be working to get the season started properly as soon as possible.
